The Central Bank of the Solomon Islands convened financial sector, government and development partner stakeholders for a workshop to validate the Solomon Islands Inclusive Green Finance (IGF) Roadmap 2026–2030, which is intended to expand access to financial services that support climate resilience and financial inclusion. The roadmap builds on the National Financial Inclusion Strategy and sets out practical actions including development of green financial products such as renewable energy loans, climate-resilient housing finance, sustainable agriculture lending and climate-responsive insurance solutions. It also aims to strengthen climate risk awareness, financial literacy and environmental, social and governance practices across the financial sector. Feedback and recommendations from the workshop are to be incorporated into the final roadmap ahead of formal adoption and implementation. The roadmap is being developed with support from the Greening the Pacific Financial Systems programme, implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute in partnership with the Central Bank of the Solomon Islands and financed by Agence Française de Développement.
