The Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau reported that Financial Secretary Paul Chan held talks in Beijing with senior Mainland officials on economic and financial market developments and closer Mainland-Hong Kong cooperation in financial regulation and development. The meetings included People’s Bank of China Governor Pan Gongsheng and National Financial Regulatory Administration Minister Ding Xiangqun. Chan also briefed the officials on Hong Kong’s First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development for 2026-2030 and the 2026 Policy Address, focusing on plans to consolidate and enhance Hong Kong’s status as an international financial center. In a separate meeting, he discussed arrangements for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Finance Ministers’ Meeting with Finance Minister Lan Fo’an, alongside economic, financial and trade developments.
