The Central Bank of Taiwan reported that the daily average balance of reserve money in June 2026 fell by NT$50.7 billion from the previous month to NT$7,554.1 billion. The decline reflected decreases in both main components, with currency in circulation down NT$34.6 billion and reserves deposited with the Bank down NT$16.1 billion. On the sources side, expansionary factors included a net decrease in certificates of deposit issued by the Bank, interest payments on government bonds, repayment of Treasury bills and government borrowings, and the disbursement of subsidies and centrally funded tax revenues. These were more than offset by contractionary factors, notably tax remittances to the National Treasury and government bond issuance. The annual growth rate of the daily average balance of reserve money slowed to 7.63% from 8.80% in the previous month, while the average growth rate for the first six months of 2026 was 7.19%, compared with 5.93% in the same period a year earlier. The next reserve money release, covering July 2026, is scheduled for August 11, 2026 at 16:20.
