The South African Reserve Bank published the June 2026 SADC-RTGS settlement statistics, showing that the regional real-time gross settlement system processed 156,530 transactions with a total value of ZAR250.7 billion during the month. That equated to an average of 6,261 transactions and ZAR10.03 billion settled per day. Since inception, the system has settled 7,036,047 transactions worth ZAR19.89 trillion. The release also shows that the SADC-RTGS network comprised 15 participating countries, one regional clearing and settlement operator and 88 participating banks, including central banks. Within that framework, the TCIB payment scheme settled 229 transactions worth ZAR323.7 million in June. Compared with May 2026, monthly activity increased from 146,334 transactions worth ZAR223.03 billion. The historical peak monthly volume remains 183,013 transactions in October 2024, while the peak monthly value remains ZAR271.55 billion in October 2025.
