The Angola Capital Markets Commission participated in an event organised by O Telegrama magazine in partnership with the Ministry of Finance to mark 10 years since Angola began issuing Eurobonds, celebrating a decade of the country’s presence in international financial markets. The authority was represented by its Chairman, Elmer Serrão, and Executive Administrator, Vasco Januário. The programme brought together officials involved in sovereign debt issuance as well as business leaders, investors and other financial-system decision-makers, with contributions from Finance Minister Vera Daves de Sousa, the chairman of Angola’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Armando Manuel, Namibe governor Archer Mangueira and the director-general of the Public Debt Management Unit Dorivaldo Teixeira. In the closing address, Serrão linked the anniversary to Angola’s positioning as a consistent issuer and its commitment to transparency, while the CMC framed its participation as reinforcing its institutional focus on a solid, transparent and internationally competitive capital market.
