The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India’s International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) to enhance cooperation arrangements and support closer engagement between Australia and India. Signed in Sydney on 4 September 2025 by ASIC Chair Joe Longo and IFSCA Chair Shri K Rajaraman, the MoU sets out mutual assistance and information-sharing arrangements covering topics such as regulatory trends and best practice, the use of technology in financial markets, regulatory compliance, and the supervision and enforcement requirements of market participants. The signing was witnessed by senior Indian and Australian government officials, including the High Commissioner of India to Australia and representatives from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
