European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) announced it will hold a public hearing with Dr Wolf Klinz in the context of his proposed renewal as Chair of the Financial Reporting Board (FRB) of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG), ahead of a committee vote. The FRB is responsible for EFRAG’s positions on financial reporting, including work linked to the endorsement of IFRS Accounting Standards from a European perspective. The FRB Chair is nominated by the European Commission after hearing the European Parliament and Council and is appointed by the EFRAG General Assembly for a three-year term, renewable for a further three years; Klinz’s current term ends on 16 November 2025. The public hearing is scheduled for 14 July, with the ECON vote set for 15 July.
