The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) announced it will take part in the seminar “Insurance and Ecological Transformation – towards COP 30”, a free event organised by Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Centre for Infrastructure and Environmental Solutions Studies (FGV CEISA) that will be held in São Paulo on 6 November with an online livestream. SUSEP will be represented by Superintendent Alessandro Octaviani and Directors Jessica Bastos, Júlia Lins and Carlos Queiroz. The programme will examine insurance as a risk mitigant in the ecological transition, including panels on Brazil’s Ecological Transformation Plan and impacts on strategic sectors, green taxonomy in insurance and pensions, expanding access to insurance and coverage for extreme climate events, and the role of catastrophe insurance in resilience and adaptation. It will also address insurers’ and pension providers’ role as investors in the transition, including new investment instruments under Law No. 15.042 of 2024, as well as regulatory and supervisory challenges and opportunities linked to strengthening the carbon market and green economy. Registration is available for both in-person attendance (9:00 to 18:00) and online participation.
