The Bank of Namibia and the University of Namibia signed a renewed Cooperation Agreement, extending their academic and research partnership through 2029 after the previous agreement (established in 2014) expired in 2024. The agreement was formalised in Windhoek by Bank of Namibia Deputy Governor Leonie Dunn and UNAM Acting Vice Chancellor Ellen Ndeshi Namhila. The cooperation is structured around academic support, joint research, capacity building and institutional collaboration. The Bank will continue providing staff, particularly doctoral-qualified officials, as part-time lecturers in UNAM’s Faculty of Commerce, Management and Law, with the Bank bearing the full cost under its corporate social responsibility mandate. Joint research will be aligned with national policy frameworks including Vision 2030 and the National Development Plans, covering topics such as macroeconomic stability, inclusive growth, financial systems development and social transformation.
