The Jordan Securities Commission, alongside the Amman Stock Exchange and the Securities Depository Center, hosted a working visit by a delegation from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Public Security Directorate under a training programme for the first course on investigating financial and banking crimes focused on forgery and fraud. The visit aimed to strengthen communication, cooperation and coordination between law enforcement and capital market institutions. The delegation was briefed on the Commission’s functions across issuance, disclosure, licensing, inspection and supervision of the capital market, as well as related work on corporate governance, Islamic sukuk and dealing in foreign stock exchanges. The Amman Stock Exchange presented its operating model, recent market developments, future projects and a live demonstration of the trading session and electronic trading system, while the Securities Depository Center outlined its roles in securities custody and deposit, member relations and training on its electronic systems, transfer of ownership, clearing and settlement procedures and ownership restrictions, and reaffirmed its commitment to investor protection, transparency and disclosure in line with international standards.
