The Canadian Bankers Association published an overview of U.S. bank subsidiaries and branches operating in Canada, reporting that 15 institutions hold about CAD 124.6 billion in assets and account for half of all foreign bank assets in the country. These banks provide services including corporate and commercial lending, treasury services, credit cards, investment banking and mortgage financing. They serve customers with cross-border activities as well as Canada’s domestic retail market.
