The Superintendency of Banks of Panama participated in Panama’s 17th Annual Accounting Convention, with its Deputy Director for Banking and Fiduciary Prevention, Yoriel Moreno Romero, serving as a panellist in a forum on the main strategic and compliance challenges in corporate governance. The discussion brought together representatives from the accounting profession and corporate governance community, including speakers from the Panamanian Association of Business Executives, the Institute of Corporate Governance, and Secure Line. Topics included the role of accountants in corporate governance through functions that support transparency, accountability and regulatory compliance, as well as the importance of professional training and ethics in ensuring financial management and the oversight of lawful and transparent operations.
