The Bermuda Ministry of Finance announced that Premier David Burt has travelled to the Middle East to lead a Bermuda delegation to the Annual Satoshi Roundtable and the World Government Summit in Dubai, and will also visit the Kingdom of Bahrain to advance bilateral engagement. The Satoshi Roundtable is an invite-only event running annually since 2014, with invitations attributed to Bermuda’s role in digital finance; Bermuda has included officials from the Bermuda Monetary Authority in its delegation each year since 2019. During the World Government Summit, the Premier is scheduled to speak at the Government Services Forum and hold a fireside chat with CNN’s Eleni Giokos, and he has also been invited as a special guest and speaker at the 10th Arab Fiscal Forum, which brings together finance ministers, central bank governors and the International Monetary Fund Managing Director to discuss strengthening fiscal policies and institutions. The delegation includes the Minister of Economy and Labour and the Minister of Home Affairs, with travel supported by Bermuda’s Special Representative for the Middle & Africa, and airfare and accommodation covered by the Government of the United Arab Emirates.
