The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) reported that its president, Roberto E. Silva, spoke at the Finance of Tomorrow (FOT) event in Rio de Janeiro, focusing on digital currencies and cross-border payments and referencing Argentina’s regulations for Virtual Asset Service Providers (Proveedores de Servicios de Activos Virtuales) and tokenisation. During the “Digital Currencies and Cross-Border Payments” session, Silva presented Argentina’s approach to PSAV and tokenisation regulation and joined a panel with Renato Gomes, Director of the Financial System at the Central Bank of Brazil, moderated by Bianca Lopes. The CNV president also met the United Kingdom Financial Conduct Authority’s Director of Regulatory Innovation, Colin Payne, and, together with Sebastián Sanchez Sarmiento of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic, held discussions with United Kingdom Department for Business and Trade officials on open finance and smart data strategy. As context, the CNV noted Silva’s participation in UK Fintech Week 2025 in London in May, including remarks at the Global Fintech Forum and meetings with senior FCA officials.
