The Monetary Authority of Macao held a promotional session in Chengdu for about 100 representatives to explain Macao’s Investment Funds Law, related measures and opportunities for investment fund businesses. The event extended an outreach campaign launched after the law took effect in 2026 and sought to deepen cooperation with Sichuan in cross-border investment, financing and two-way capital flows. Presentations covered Macao’s legal framework, business environment, company formation procedures and opportunities for cross-border fund activity. The authority positioned Macao as a financial services platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries and encouraged fund managers to establish operations there. Its sessions in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hengqin, Shenzhen, Xiamen and Chengdu have attracted about 780 participants since January, and further promotion in major mainland Chinese cities is planned.
