The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets has signed a new covenant with DSI that will continue recognizing DSI registration as a way for banks and investment firms to demonstrate the competence of employees who provide investment information or advice. The covenant takes effect on Jan. 1, 2027, for five years and does not change the applicable professional competence requirements. An independent audit by KWINK groep, commissioned as the existing covenant approached expiry, found the arrangement effective and efficient in supporting compliance with Dutch professional competence rules and relevant European Securities and Markets Authority guidelines. The updated covenant refreshes legal references and adds agreements intended to align training more closely with practice and strengthen oversight of training quality and customer satisfaction. DSI registration remains voluntary, but firms using another method must document and demonstrate how relevant employees meet the requirements.
