The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting of a dedicated interagency working group focused on expanding the economic rights and opportunities of women and young people. Discussions covered the state of financial inclusion for women, youth and small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as consumer rights protection, financial literacy and access to financial services. The Bank’s Research Institute presented an update on implementation of the 2024 action plan under the National Financial Inclusion Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan, including the Strategy’s objectives, governance and implementation mechanism, execution status in 2024, usage and accessibility of financial services, changes in lending to women and the quality of financial services. A participant in the 2024 Women’s World Banking Leadership Diversity Program for Regulators also presented on expanding women entrepreneurs’ access to financial instruments, followed by an exchange of experience and responses to questions on the action plan’s implementation.
