The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) opened the 20th Asia Pacific Life Insurance Congress (APLIC) 2025 in Bangkok, using the forum to stress that life insurance agents and financial advisors are central to linking insurance products with the public and building consumer confidence in the insurance system. Organised by the Thai Life Assurance and Financial Advisor Association (THAIFA) and held on 27–29 May 2025 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, the event drew more than 5,000 life insurance representatives from across the region under the theme “Create Tomorrow, Today”. In her opening remarks, Deputy Secretary-General Wasumdee Waseenont highlighted global economic, geopolitical and technological uncertainty alongside regional growth drivers such as an expanding middle class, population ageing and rising financial literacy, and indicated the OIC will continue to promote international cooperation, elevate professional standards and develop policy mechanisms to support the sector’s development.
