The National Bank of Moldova published remarks by Gov. Anca Dragu delivered at an official awards ceremony for high-performing students in Romanian language and literature and the history of Romanians. In the speech, she linked education, identity and integrity to Moldova's modernization and European integration, and cited the central bank's work on the national financial architecture, notably the MIA instant payments system and Moldova's integration into the Single Euro Payments Area. Dragu said MIA has exceeded 1.1 million users within two years of launch and has expanded from person-to-person transfers to solutions for businesses and institutions. She also said SEPA integration has made cross-border EUR payments more efficient, reduced costs for citizens and companies, and strengthened Moldova's financial connection to the European space. The ceremony in Chisinau formed part of a broader initiative to support students with strong results in subjects tied to shared cultural and historical heritage.
