The Vietnam State Securities Commission announced a staff training programme focused on improving officials’ ability to read, understand and analyse corporate financial statements, to support financial monitoring and supervision in Vietnam’s securities market. The course is designed to strengthen skills in assessing and overseeing companies’ financial condition, including identifying risks, material misstatements and potential fraud indicators. The four core modules cover general approaches to financial statement analysis and red flags, identifying material items and risks in financial statements, analysing audit reports and financial statements, and requirements for audit evidence including common errors and quality monitoring of audit evidence. Training is delivered by experts from the Academy of Finance, the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants and auditing firms. The programme is scheduled to run over four days from 9 to 12 September 2025.
