The National Bank of Moldova announced that it will host the 38th annual conference of the Group of Banking Supervisors from Central and South-Eastern Europe (BSCEE) in Chisinau on 28 and 29 May 2026. The event, which the bank said will be held in Chisinau for the first time since the group's creation, will bring together vice governors, experts from the central banks of the BSCEE's 24 member states, and officials from European and international financial institutions. Discussions will centre on cooperation among banking supervisors and on adapting supervisory mechanisms to the rapid digital transformation of the financial sector. The conference takes place while the National Bank of Moldova holds the BSCEE presidency, which it assumed on 16 December 2025 under Vice Governor Constantin Schendra. The two-day agenda includes presentation of the BSCEE annual report and discussions on the network's development priorities, as well as proposed amendments to the group's organizational rules with a focus on stronger confidentiality provisions and more secure exchange of specialist information among member states.
