Bermuda's Ministry of Finance reported on Premier David Burt’s second day of engagements at the Eurofi Conference in Warsaw, where a Bermuda delegation that included representatives from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) met with international and European counterparts to discuss Bermuda’s insurance regulatory regime and related financial-services priorities. The delegation met International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) Chair Shigeru Ariizumi and IAIS Secretary General Jonathan Dixon, who commended the BMA’s engagement and contributions to international regulatory work. Separate discussions with the Polish Ministry of Finance, led by Undersecretary of State Jaroslaw Neneman, focused on Bermuda’s insurance regulatory regime, with Polish officials expressing interest in learning from Bermuda’s experience. The delegation also met European Commissioner for Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union Maria Luís Albuquerque, whose team commended Bermuda’s work to strengthen its anti-money laundering framework and maintain robust insurance regulation. Premier Burt is scheduled to return to Bermuda on 15 April.
