The National Bank of Moldova announced it will hold the seventh edition of its “Drumul banilor” financial education event on 28 November, marking Moldovan leu day and aimed at helping children and young people understand how the national currency is issued and enters economic circulation. The programme starts at the National Bank with guided visits to its exhibition hall on Moldova’s monetary history, including the evolution of the leu over 32 years, a display of gold and silver commemorative and jubilee coins, and exhibits on changes in the monetary system. Participants will also take part in a practical session on identifying security features of Moldovan leu banknotes and how banknotes are protected and updated, before continuing the visit at a licensed bank to see how banking activity is carried out. Attendance requires prior registration, with groups of up to 30–40 people (including accompanying adults), a minimum age of 10, hourly tours from 09:00 to 15:00, and requests to participate due by 19 November 2025.
