The Monaco Ministry of Finance and Economy announced that Monaco hosted a MONEYVAL evaluator training session from 16 to 20 March 2026 as the sixth round of MONEYVAL evaluations gets underway. The programme was aimed at preparing future assessors to apply the latest international standards in reviews of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and counter-proliferation financing measures, in line with Financial Action Task Force effectiveness requirements. Around 40 delegates from 21 countries attended the five-day course, which was organised by MONEYVAL of the Council of Europe and delivered by expert trainers and representatives of the MONEYVAL Secretariat. Coordinated by the Permanent Secretariat of Monaco’s national committee for the strategy against money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing and corruption, the session combined theoretical instruction with practical workshops and enables participants, including staff from Monegasque authorities, to become certified evaluators for future country assessments.
