The Algeria Market Authority published an update on its chairman Youcef Bouzenada’s participation in the International Organization of Securities Commissions annual meetings in Doha from May 12 to 15, 2025. The update is about engagement in IOSCO’s work rather than a new domestic regulatory measure. It says the meetings covered regional committee sessions, the Growth and Emerging Markets Committee, the IOSCO Board and General Assembly, alongside expert workshops. Topics highlighted included International Sustainability Standards Board sustainability disclosure standards, protection of retail investors as financial technology and online trading evolve, regulation of crypto-asset markets, and the challenges and risks associated with private financing in a changing financial environment. The program also covered strengthening and expanding relevant training initiatives. On the sidelines, Bouzenada held bilateral meetings with heads and representatives of other participating authorities on cooperation and exchange of expertise.
