Bermuda’s Premier and Minister of Finance David Burt travelled to Washington, D.C. for meetings with US government representatives and to participate in the DC Blockchain Summit 2025, focusing on financial innovation, international cooperation and regional affairs. He was accompanied by the Minister of Economy and Labour, Jason Hayward. Scheduled congressional meetings included representatives Bryan Steil, Joaquin Castro, Zach Nunn, Young Kim and Gabe Amo. At the summit, Burt took part in a “Blockchain & Bermuda” fireside chat with journalist Eleanor Terrett, covering Bermuda’s approach to regulating digital finance and the jurisdiction’s ability to attract firms including Coinbase, Circle and Kraken, and he also engaged with officials attending the event including Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, Senate Banking Committee chair Tim Scott, and House Financial Services Committee chair French Hill. The delegation was scheduled to return to Bermuda on 27 March.
