The Central Bank of Luxembourg published provisional banking statistics showing the aggregate balance sheet total of credit institutions increased to EUR 1,008,992 million at 30 November 2025 from EUR 1,003,289 million at 31 October 2025, a 0.57% rise. On a year-on-year basis, the balance sheet total grew by 3.78%. On the asset side, the month-on-month increase was mainly driven by higher “other assets”, while “other liabilities” were the main contributor on the liability side. The interbank balance (claims minus liabilities) fell by EUR 4,703 million (2.09%) to EUR 220,484 million at end-November 2025. Loans to non-bank customers rose by EUR 173 million (0.14%) between October and November 2025 and were up EUR 6,977 million (6.18%) over 12 months, with year-on-year declines in lending to non-financial corporations (down EUR 734 million, 3.03%) offset by increases in household mortgage lending (up EUR 1,376 million, 3.35%) and lending to other financial intermediaries (up EUR 6,276 million, 15.49%). Resident non-bank deposits contracted by EUR 4,446 million (1.41%) month-on-month but increased by EUR 19,754 million (6.79%) over 12 months, led by other financial intermediaries’ deposits (up EUR 16,744 million, 8.6%; 68.01% share at 30 November 2025) and household deposits (up EUR 2,061 million, 4.39%).
