The Hong Kong Insurance Authority has issued an alert warning the public about phishing mobile text messages from fraudsters posing as Prudential Hong Kong Limited, an authorised insurer, to obtain personal or payment information. The messages ask recipients to call a suspicious phone number to cancel an insurance policy. Prudential has confirmed it has no connection with the messages, and the matter has been reported to the Hong Kong Police Force for investigation.
