The Central Bank of the Philippines published a recap of its delegation’s participation in the 2025 International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings and related engagements held in Washington, DC from 13 to 18 October 2025, including dialogues with international counterparts, rating agencies, and investors. Monetary Board Members Romeo L. Bernardo and Walter C. Wassmer led the delegation, which included Deputy Governor Zeno Ronald R. Abenoja and Senior Assistant Governor Edna C. Villa, alongside delegates from the central bank and the Department of Finance. Officials joined the strategic dialogue between the IMF Managing Director and ASEAN finance ministers and central bank governors, participated in the Joint Governors’ Meeting of the IMF-WBG Southeast Asia Constituency, and held meetings with the US Federal Reserve, IMF departments, and credit rating agencies. The programme also included investor briefings for Citi, JPMorgan, HSBC, and Bank of America clients, covering global and regional economic and financial developments, policy challenges, and prospects for cooperation and technical assistance. The delegation shared updates on the Philippines’ preparation and priorities as incoming ASEAN Chair in 2026, and Wassmer accepted Global Finance’s “Best Central Banker Award” on behalf of Governor Eli M.
