Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev held meetings in Luxembourg with European Stability Mechanism (ESM) Managing Director Pierre Gramegna and engaged in a strategic discussion with the ESM Governing Board on Bulgaria’s planned adoption of the euro on 1 January 2026 and its expected future membership of the ESM as its 21st member. During the visit, the Bulgarian flag was raised at the ESM building as a symbolic marker of the forthcoming accession. The programme also included a speech by Radev at the ESM Annual Dinner attended by more than 100 representatives of leading banks and global investors, as well as meetings with Bulgarian experts working within the ESM, including Board members Kalin Anev Janse (Chief Financial Officer) and Yana Dzhoneva (Chief Operating Officer). Deputy Finance Minister Metodi Metodiev participated in the meetings.

Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev met with European Stability Mechanism (ESM) officials in Luxembourg to discuss Bulgaria's planned euro adoption on 1 January 2026 and future ESM membership. The visit included a symbolic flag-raising ceremony and a speech by Radev at the ESM Annual Dinner. Meetings also involved Bulgarian experts and Deputy Finance Minister Metodi Metodiev.
