The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) announced a partnership with Brampton Library to deliver a series of free financial literacy workshops in 2026, offered both in person at library branches and online. CIRO’s Office of the Investor will lead the sessions, which are positioned for retirees, youth and new investors seeking credible and unbiased information on personal finance and investing. The programme covers three core topics: “Investing Basics” (virtual on 22 January 2026 and in person on 23 April 2026 at the Springdale Branch), “Youth Guide to Finance and Investing” (virtual on 19 February 2026 and in person on 12 May 2026 at the Springdale Branch), and “Retirement Planning and Living” (virtual on 10 March 2026 and in person on 23 June 2026 at the Cyril Clark Branch). Content spans investing fundamentals and account types, budgeting and balancing debt with investing priorities, and retirement income planning, alongside guidance on spotting and protecting against scams, fraud and financial abuse. Registration is available through Brampton Library’s website.
