In remarks at a Black Sea Trade and Development Bank business forum, National Bank of Georgia First Vice President Ekaterine Mikabadze emphasized the role of a resilient financial sector and international partnerships in expanding access to finance and attracting capital. The forum included the signing of agreements between BSTDB and three Georgian commercial banks to support small and medium-sized enterprises and improve their access to funding. Mikabadze reported that Georgia’s real gross domestic product grew by an annual average of 9.3% from 2021 through 2025, while economic growth averaged 7.6% in the first eight months of 2026. She identified infrastructure, regional connectivity and other sectors supporting long-term competitiveness as areas where institutions such as BSTDB can provide financing. Georgia is a founding member of BSTDB, which has allocated EUR 631 million to 46 projects in the country since its establishment.
