The Australian Securities & Investments Commission announced that Darryl Brian Mapleson has pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court of Western Australia to one count of insider trading involving Beacon Minerals Limited shares. The offence relates to Mr Mapleson procuring Rosdarem Pty Ltd and Rosdarem Investments Pty Ltd, companies of which he was a director, to acquire 6,792,850 Beacon Minerals shares between 21 and 24 January 2017 while in possession of inside information. At the time, he provided geological services to Beacon Minerals and acted as the company’s Competent Person for Australian Securities Exchange announcements on drilling results. Two insider trading charges were discontinued. Mr Mapleson is scheduled to appear for a sentence hearing on 6 August 2025. In a related matter, former Beacon Minerals project manager Alexander McCulloch pleaded not guilty to two counts of insider trading, with a provisional trial listing in the Supreme Court from 9 to 20 November 2026.
