The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo published an update on Governor Ahmet Ismaili’s meeting with the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance during the 2026 IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings, reaffirming cooperation and discussing a potential expansion of support in strategic priority areas. Discussions covered ongoing work and possible new cooperation on anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and counter-proliferation financing (AML/CFT/CPF), as well as the development of capital market infrastructure, including initial support for broader market infrastructure and related operational frameworks. The central bank’s delegation also briefed the US Treasury team on key developments in advancing the legal framework and measures taken to strengthen the integrity of the financial system, while US Treasury officials indicated readiness to expand collaboration through a new AML/CFT/CPF technical assistance programme and to explore a possible project focused on technical infrastructure for capital market development.
