Remarks by OJK Commissioner Board member Juda Agung highlighted rapid digitalisation, citing mobile phone ownership equivalent to 125% of the population and average screen time of seven hours, alongside growth in digital payments, digital banking, technology-based financing, digital investment and new technology-based financial assets. The authorities flagged increasing cybercrime, digital fraud and phishing risks and pointed to strengthened system security standards, regulation and supervision, including developing the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning for improved detection and prevention. Coordination tools referenced included the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre, which brings together regulators, banks, electronic money providers and e-commerce to accelerate fraud handling and the blocking of funds, and the Financial System Stability Committee, which links OJK, Bank Indonesia, the Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Ministry of Finance.
