The Albania Financial Services Authority announced it will host the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) Annual Conference in Tirana, as part of a week-long programme running from 10 to 14 November 2025. The main conference is scheduled for 13 November at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet and is expected to attract around 500 senior participants from insurance regulators, the international insurance industry, and international financial institutions. The programme includes IAIS technical committee meetings during the first three days, with around 230 heads of insurance supervisory authorities from more than 150 countries, alongside planned bilateral meetings between supervisory authorities and dedicated sessions among leaders of international insurance companies. One of the week’s flagship events will be the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) Forum, themed “Advancing Insurance Reforms on the Path to European Integration”, focusing on the implications of European integration for candidate countries. AMF’s Chief Executive Officer Mimoza Kaçi linked the hosting of the event to strengthening international supervisory cooperation and supporting Albania’s reform and integration agenda, noting Tirana’s selection follows the IAIS annual conferences held in Tokyo in 2023 and Cape Town in 2024.
