The National Credit Union Administration has awarded USD 3.47 million in Community Development Revolving Loan Fund grants to 97 low-income designated credit unions. The grants range from USD 1,800 to USD 100,000 and go to institutions across 36 states and Puerto Rico. Of the awardees, 79 are small credit unions and 18 are first-time applicants. Funding was allocated across six categories, with the largest share going to underserved outreach at USD 1.959 million for 42 grants. Other awards covered technology, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence with 35 grants totaling USD 752,200, impact through innovation under a pilot program with three grants totaling USD 300,000, new charter capacity building with five grants totaling USD 175,000, student internships with seven grants totaling USD 175,000, and training with five grants totaling USD 103,800. The Community Development Revolving Loan Fund grant program is administered by the NCUA’s Office of Credit Union Resources and Expansion.
