The Chile Financial Market Commission announced that Diego Peralta Valenzuela will take office as its General Legal Director on 1 June 2026 after being selected through a public competition. He joins from Carey, where he currently serves as a partner and co-leader of the banking and finance group. Peralta's practice has focused on structuring financial products and financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity issuances in domestic and international markets, and financial regulation. Earlier in his career he worked at the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic and later served as General Counsel for Citicorp and Citibank in Chile. He also currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Chilean Capital Market.
