The Union of Arab Securities Authorities reported on its observer participation in the 50th ordinary session of the Council of Governors of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities in Abu Dhabi on Sept. 29, 2026. The council approved the final drafting of priority issues for the 2026 Joint Arab Address, which will present a unified regional position at the upcoming annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Discussions focused on strengthening macroeconomic resilience amid geopolitical disruption and global market volatility, as well as financial stability and macroprudential policy frameworks. The governors also addressed financial inclusion, digital payment systems, the efficiency of shared Arab payment networks and financial markets, and cybersecurity for the banking sector. The joint address is intended to mobilize financial and technical support and capacity building for regional development.
