Mexico's Ministry of Finance and Public Credit announced that Mexico, through the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) acting as the country’s National Coordination before the Financial Action Task Force of Latin America (GAFILAT), has received the CAMPUS GAFILAT 2025 award recognising sustained leadership in regional capacity building and specialised training on preventing and combating money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing. The recognition was granted in December 2025 during GAFILAT’s 52nd meeting of working groups and representatives’ plenary in Antigua, Guatemala, based on objective participation metrics in the CAMPUS GAFILAT training platform, including registered users, courses delivered, outreach actions and technical cooperation promoted at national level. The release framed the award as reflecting coordinated efforts across public, private and social sectors and participants in Mexico’s national prevention regime, positioning Mexico as a regional reference among GAFILAT’s 18 member countries in the strategic use of continuous training tools.
