The U.S. Department of Justice announced that court-authorized actions disrupted an online fundraising and recruitment network operated by Hamas and its military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades. The FBI seized approximately USD 560,000 in cryptocurrency intended for Hamas and took control of domains and servers used to solicit donations and recruit supporters. According to unsealed seizure warrants, investigators traced and seized the cryptocurrency through actions conducted in March, June and October 2025 after identifying rotating donation addresses promoted through an encrypted group chat and fundraising website. Control of the AlQassam.ps infrastructure also enabled the FBI to intercept intended donations and obtain information on thousands of people who contacted Hamas about donating through cryptocurrency or traditional means for use in future counterterrorism efforts.
