The Bank of Italy announced that, from 13 April 2026, its Online Services for the Public Platform will be the only electronic channel for submitting requests to access the Central Credit Register (CR) and the Interbank Register of Bad Cheques and Payment Cards (CAI), as well as complaints about problems encountered by the public in dealings with banks and financial intermediaries. Submissions via e-mail and certified e-mail (PEC) will no longer be accepted for these services. The platform is available at any time from any digital device and is free of charge, including for users without a PEC address or an account with an authorised digital identity service. Requests and complaints will still be accepted in paper form by regular mail, fax, or in person at Bank of Italy branches.
