The State Bank of Vietnam held a courtesy meeting with the Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA) to discuss continued cooperation on banking inspection and supervision, including ongoing information exchange and experience sharing. The meeting between Deputy Governor Pham Quang Dung and Hiroshi Okada, Director for Japan–Vietnam relations at the FSA, reviewed 15 years of FSA support through an annual training programme at the Global Financial Partnership Center (GLOPAC) that has supported capacity-building for the State Bank of Vietnam’s banking supervisors. Discussions also covered the global economic outlook in the context of tariff policy impacts from major trading partners, and topics of interest to the FSA including sustainable finance and fintech. The FSA expressed an intention to maintain long-term cooperation with the State Bank of Vietnam, including on areas such as green finance and digital transformation, and committed to continue supporting training to strengthen supervisory expertise.
