The Islamic Development Bank announced that S&P affirmed its AAA long-term credit rating with a stable outlook and its A-1 short-term issuer rating. S&P expects the bank to maintain an extremely strong financial position, supported by robust capitalization, strong liquidity and continued shareholder backing. The assessment also reflects the bank’s policy role, preferred creditor treatment and diversified exposures, which help mitigate geopolitical risks. S&P acknowledged planned financing growth under the bank’s new 10-year strategy, focused on inclusive growth, climate action and partnerships among member countries. The bank has held an AAA rating from S&P since 2002.
