The Spanish Securities Commission (CNMV) announced that the jury for the 2025 Antonio Moreno Espejo Journalism Prize has awarded the ninth edition to the television report "Esto es una estafa", broadcast on Salvados on La Sexta, which addresses the risks of "chiringuitos financieros" and the business of telephone scams. The jury highlighted the report’s novel data and perspectives on financial scams, supported by original testimonies, and noted that its accessible format provides useful information for investors to identify and avoid fraud. CNMV President Carlos San Basilio chaired the jury, which also included representatives from the Banco de España, BME and market bodies. A total of 131 journalistic works from 24 media outlets or channels were submitted or pre-selected; the programme is an Atresmedia production made by Producciones del Barrio, and the award carries a EUR 15,000 prize. CNMV said the prize will be presented shortly at a public ceremony.
