The Spanish National Securities Market Commission’s president, Carlos San Basilio, has been elected by the European Securities and Markets Authority’s Board of Supervisors to serve on the ESMA Management Board. His term runs through Sept. 30, 2029, with the possibility of renewal for another two and a half years. The Management Board oversees ESMA’s delivery of its mandate, including preparation and monitoring of its work program and budget and preparation of matters for the Board of Supervisors. San Basilio will also contribute to ESMA’s transition to its new governance and supervisory model. He has served on the Board of Supervisors since becoming CNMV president in December 2024 and chairs ESMA’s Investor and Markets Standing Committee.
