The Belgium Financial Services and Markets Authority has published a new edition of its Retail Investment Dashboard, its quarterly overview of Belgian retail investor behaviour. The data for the fourth quarter of 2025 show higher activity across shares, exchange-traded funds and bonds compared with the previous quarter, with the number of active investors in shares and ETFs reaching a five-year high. About 233,000 Belgian retail investors traded in shares in the quarter, alongside 136,000 in ETFs and 32,000 in bonds. First-time trading was recorded for 21,000 investors in shares, 24,000 in ETFs and 9,000 in bonds. Transaction volumes also increased, with more than 1.8 million share trades, about 502,000 ETF trades and 41,000 bond trades. ETF transactions were up 35 per cent from the third quarter of 2025, while the increase in bond transactions was linked to a bond issue aimed at retail investors.
