Bank of Indonesia has announced Green Calculator Version 2, an updated carbon emissions calculation tool intended to help businesses and financial institutions measure emissions more accurately and consistently for sustainability reporting, green finance development and climate risk management. The update is aimed at improving the credibility, standardisation, reliability and comparability of emissions data used in sustainable finance. Version 2 expands the tool’s coverage, adds more comprehensive methodologies and improves user accessibility. Bank Indonesia says it now produces higher-quality emissions data aligned with the international Greenhouse Gas Protocol standard. A 2025 survey of 105 banks found that most were calculating emissions independently and that the Green Calculator was the most widely used tool. The application was developed through a multi-agency working group and can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and Play Store, with user manuals and worksheets available on Bank Indonesia’s website.
