The International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation updated its Memorandum of Understanding with China’s Ministry of Finance, confirming that the International Sustainability Standards Board will continue to operate its existing Beijing office. The office is positioned to support the ISSB’s exchange and cooperation, capacity building and innovation across China, as well as in developing and emerging economies. The updated MoU was agreed during a 10–11 December visit to Beijing by IFRS Foundation Trustees Chair Erkki Liikanen. The Foundation also announced the appointment of Minwen Zhang as Beijing office director and special adviser to the ISSB Chair, citing her experience in international economic, financial and development cooperation, including roles at the Ministry of Finance, the World Bank Group and the Asian Development Bank, and it thanked outgoing office director Zhengwei Zhang.
