The New Brunswick Financial & Consumer Services Commission issued a caution alert warning that several crypto asset trading platforms are not registered to deal or advise in securities or derivatives in New Brunswick, and that investors should avoid engaging with unregistered firms because investor protections are not assured. The warning names Antera Capital365 (including Antera Capital and AC), BTC Trading Pro, Giga-Markets365 (including Giga Markets and Giga Markets265), Kalmar Investments, Plus Capital Advisor (including P+ Plus Capital Advisor), and Revivo Capital. The Commission notes that Antera Capital365, BTC Trading Pro, Giga-Markets365 and Revivo Capital falsely claim to be wholly owned subsidiaries of SIG North Trading, ULC, and that Plus Capital Advisor falsely claims to be a wholly owned subsidiary of W.D. Latimer Co. Limited and to be registered as an investment dealer and a member of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO); in both cases, the referenced firms were contacted and verified no affiliation. For Kalmar Investments, the Commission adds that the alert does not apply to other businesses with the same or similar name, including “Kalmar Investments Inc.” and “Kalmar Investments Limited.” Investors are directed to verify registration using the National Registration Search tool and to consult the Commission’s guidance on avoiding fraud involving crypto asset trading platforms.
